PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Delta provided Phase II mechanical engineering services for replacement and relocation of Storm Water Pumping Station #38. This station is located at the grade separated intersection of US Route 41 over Deerpath Rd in Lake Forest, IL. Station #38 consists of multiple main pumps, with a standby pump, for an approximate capacity of 11,400 gal/min.
Delta’s work included schematic analysis of:
- Pump room layout
- Pump room heating, ventilation and plumbing
- Pump equipment selection
- Dry vs wet well comparative analysis
- Wet well inflow pipe elevation analysis
After IDOT approval of the initial report recommendations, the design team completed plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
The City of Lake Forest is accepting the transfer of maintenance and jurisdiction of the entire drainage infrastructure and Storm Water Pumping Station #38. Ongoing coordination is being performed with all stakeholders including: City of Lake Forest, Deerpath Golf Course, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
