PROJECT OVERVIEW
Delta provided electrical engineering services for two concurrent projects:
- Sheriff’s Department Camera & Recording Systems Upgrade
- Campus Wide Security Component Replacements
Sheriff’s Department Camera & Recording Systems Upgrade
The engineering consultant team was tasked with verifying existing conditions of video recording systems. This was followed by recommendations and designs of improvements.
Delta provided support services in the following categories:
- System assessment, programming, and schematic design
- Design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction
- Administration and project closeout
The team conducted site assessments to verify existing conditions and systems. Proposed upgrades were replacing all CCTV system head-end equipment, Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) receivers, and video monitors. Existing CCTV camera cable and assemblies were replaced. CCTV system utilized high-resolution color cameras. The locations for an additional 1,030 new cameras (approx.) were defined. Digital recording was included with the new CCTV head-end matrix. Digital recording performance and equipment alternatives were researched and presented for consideration.
Campus Wide Security Component Replacements
Upgrades received in the following facilities include:
- Division I: replace control panels on floors 1, 2, and 3
- Division IV: replace cell locks, doors, frames, and retrofit/replace control panels on 16 tiers
- Division V: replace interlock doors, cell locks, control room locks, and control panels on 24 tiers
- Division VI: replace interlock doors, cell locks, control room locks, and control panels on 24 tiers
- Division IX: replace cell locks
- Division X: design layout of control panels on 16 tiers
- Criminal Courts Building: rebuild bar, gate operators, and cell locks
